Membership is free.
Whether you’re an Extra with a loaded shack or you just picked up a UV-5R from Amazon, you’re welcome at BARC. This is a new club with a very limited roster currently, so get in on the ground floor and help kick start the club in your home town.
Who can join?
Anyone! You do need an FCC license to use the repeater, though.
What you get
-
Repeater access
Use of the club’s planned UHF repeater on the Tower building, including the monthly net and trivia nets.
-
A newsletter
An occasional email newsletter with updates, upcoming events, etc.
-
A roster listing
Optional inclusion in the members’ roster (call sign and preferred name)
How to join
Because we’re still organizing, sign-up is by email for now. Send us a note and we’ll add you to the club roster and the newsletter.
Or email us directly at join@barcnet.org.
Code of conduct
BARC follows the ARRL’s Amateur’s Code and a few simple additions:
- Be considerate on the air and at meetings.
- No harassment, slurs, or politics on the repeater.
- Keep it family-friendly — assume kids are listening, because they are.
- Help newcomers. You were one too, once.
- If something goes wrong, tell a club officer. We’ll listen.
